York Early Music Festival
The 2013 festival focuses on the musical life of Rome and the 450th anniversary of John Dowland with guests including La Risonanza directed by Fabio Bonizonni; Ensemble Medusa with Patrizia Bovi; Iestyn Davies; Paul O’Dette; Jakob Lindberg and Wieland Kuijken. Musical Instruments - History, Science and Culture
A joint enterprise by the Bate Collection at the University of Oxford, the Galpin Society, CIMCIM, and the 'Making the Tudor Viol' project based in Huddersfield. One day will be devoted to a particular focus on early English viols, though papers on cognate matters are expected and will be welcome.
