Themes for 2015
Taking our cue from the anniversaries of the signing of the Magna Carta in 1215, and the Battles of Agincourt (1415) and Waterloo (1815), our theme is one of Rules and Rebellion - so we're expecting a riotous week! Among the repertoire highlights of this year's course, we will explore music based on L'homme arme, La Folia and La Spagna, offering the usual opportunities for singers and players to try something different during the week.

with Alison Crum, Roy Marks, Ibi Aziz, Peter Wendland
This extremely popular weekend course offers up to eight pre-formed viol consorts of any level the chance to work with Alison Crum and members of the renowned Rose Consort of Viols on music of their own choice. And this year we are also offering the option to stay with us for an extra day of coaching. Each group will be pro-actively coached by a tutor for half of every playing session, and each will work with every tutor during the course. Students will be coached on technical and musical aspects of what they play, and will learn about the music's structure and about how better to articulate it through applying historically appropriate techniques
